It's all about the media...

...video, photography, poetry, prose, t-shirt design, song, whatever.

I'm looking for works about or featuring Blue Moon kites. Really, it can be any format!

Looking for great images (visual or mental) more than virtuoso performances. Using video as an example, two minutes of a beautiful sequence showing flowing tails making big loops will be considered just as seriously as two minutes of mind-blowing tricks. I'm looking for presentations that show the beauty and/or excitement of flying a kite.

Entries will be accepted Sept. 1-5, with judging/voting the following week. Winner(s) will be announced 9/12.

The prize is a custom "Moonie" banner.

Depending on the number of submissions, categories may be developed and multiple awards made. There will be at least one prize, but more will be added as entries multiply! The banners will be a "personal" size of 10-12 feet and will include a telescopic pole.

For updates, see the  forum thread.

First "Reprise" prototype

hosted on flickr by kenmcneill
Last month's Blue Ridge Kite Festival, in Salem, VA saw the first flights of the long-planned followup to the Ichiban.

The new kite, which will be called the "Reprise", is still under development. I was very pleased with the flight characteristics, but saw a few form changes I want to make. I was particularly happy with the glide and light wind handling!

You can find out a little more and join in the discussion on the forum.
